Interessante o artigo do NY Books, intitulado justamente: "Why Finish Books?”.
“Sir—” remarked Samuel Johnson with droll incredulity to someone too eager to know whether he had finished a certain book—“Sir, do you read books through?”
A thesis: great geniuses are essentially unable to read a book. While they are reading, their own development will always be greater than their understanding of the author.
